Nostril & Septum Piercings.
Nostril piercings are set through the cartilaginous nares of the nose. Most commonly with a ring or a stud as the jewelry. Use of cosmetics and facial cleansers can complicate the healing and should be avoided. The healing cycle usually lasts three to four months until it reaches full thickness.
Septum piercings are set in the central septum of the nose. A so-called “sweet spot” of the septum is between the hard cartilage of the inner nose and the epithelial skin of the outer nose. The thickness of this tissue means the healing cycle takes four to six months or longer.
